After a global presentation of the team CQFD, I\u2019ll describe the problem set by DCNS for a submarine equipped with a sonar system which wants to detect targets as well as possible. I\u2019ll then explain the solution proposed by CQFD based on dynamic programming theory for Markov decision processes and show some numerical results. Beno\u02c6\u0131te de Saporta received her Ph.D. in applied probability in 2004 from Rennes 1 University (France). Since 2006, she has been Assistant Professor at Montesquieu Bordeaux IV University, Department of Economics. She is also a member of the INRIA Team Contr\u02c6ole de Qualit\u00b4e et Fiabilit\u00b4e Dynamique (CQFD).
