The former paradigm has been dominant in the mathematical theory of materials since the appearance of the foundational papers by Noll [1,2] and Coleman &amp; Noll [3] until recently, when the latter has been gaining prominence, as testified by the textbook by Gurtin, Fried &amp; Anand [4].<\/p>\n<p><strong>References<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>[1] W.
